Understanding your condition helps your recovery.
Headaches are classified into primary (migraine, tension-type, cluster) and secondary (due to underlying disease). Migraine presents with throbbing one-sided pain, nausea, and light sensitivity.
🚨 Red flags: sudden severe onset ("thunderclap"), headache with fever/stiff neck, or new onset after age 50.
A prolapsed intervertebral disc occurs when the soft inner core pushes through the outer ring, pressing on nearby nerves. This causes pain, numbness, or weakness that may radiate to the arms or legs. Most cases improve with physiotherapy; surgery is reserved for severe or progressive cases.
Rest adequately and avoid strenuous activity as advised
Keep wound clean and dry; take all medications as prescribed
Watch for: fever, worsening headache, new weakness or speech difficulty
Attend all follow-up appointments; do not drive until cleared
A seizure is abnormal electrical activity in the brain. First aid: protect from injury, do not restrain, turn to side if vomiting, time the seizure. 🚨 Call emergency if seizure lasts over 5 minutes or the person does not regain consciousness.
